A wine from Il Palazzo. The nose is tart and earthy, with aromas of black cherry, blackberries, topsoil, root beer, and fennel. The berries turn juicier on the palate against licorice candy, and tannins and acid bring a ferociousness that gives this wine a tense, lively overall feel. Rated 90 points by the Wine Enthusiast.
